TANGEDCO – Information Technology – Implementation of 
Software Modules of RAPDRP in IT wing – Posting of 
officials with requisite qualification – Approval accorded.

MOM of 28th TANGEDCO Board meeting held on 28/08/2012

PROCEEDINGS:
	TANGEDCO Board after detailed discussions approves the proposal 
for the creation of 14 posts of Assistant Engineers and 2 posts of 
Assistant Executive Engineers at an expenditure of Rs. 100 Lakhs per 
annum. The Board directs that there should be cost savings by 
surrendering equivalent posts elsewhere so as to match the additional 
expenditure. The Board has also observed that only recently 600 nos. of 
AEs were recruited in TANGEDCO. The Board also directs that persons 
with the requisite qualifications mentioned below may be identified and 
posted in IT wing under the control of CE/IT by way of redeployment.

The following are the qualifications approved by the Board for the IT 
related posts:
i)  The AE should be from Electrical Engineering discipline (degree in 
B.E./B.Tech Electrical / Electronics / Computer Engg., / IT required 
under Electrical Engg. Discipline). Further the AE should have studied 
Computer Technology and Electrical Engineering as one of the subjects 
in his degree and should have field experience with a minimum of one 
year in Generation/Transmission/Distribution. 
  		The above necessary qualifications and experience are 
very much  required for conceptualization of the modules, understanding 
and finding solution of the field issues and later on to take over the 
software modules. 
            ii)   The AEE should be from Electrical Engineering 
discipline (degree in B.E./B.Tech Electrical/Electronics/Computer 
Engg.,/IT required under Electrical Engg. Discipline) with Computer 
Technology and Electrical Engineering as one of the subjects, field 
experience with a minimum of five years in 
Distribution/Generation/Transmission and must be an expert in field 
domain.
            iii)    The above officials will be identified by Chief 
Engineer/IT.
